Alexander McQueen

One might say Alexander McQueen’s McQ brand has undergone quite the revival, since the passing of the London fashion designer. In fact, did it ever lose momentum at all? It’s doubtful whether more than a handful of people didn’t hear of McQueen’s untimely passing. It’ll be the second anniversary of that day come February 2012, but it seems like it happened just yesterday, judging by just how popular his clothes still happen to be. Surely you’ve seen the Alexander McQueen scarf on someone on the high street recently. Chances are, you’ll have seen an Alexander McQueen dress too – possibly a tartan puffball one, to be precise. So do you want to be part of the phenomenon? If so, step this way.

As modelled by Rihanna on an infamous X-Factor appearance, the Alexander McQueen tartan wool puffball dress has made itself a high-end must-have for those who can’t bear to be behind with the times. Would you like to know who else agrees? Well if the names Emma Watson, Cheryl Cole or Sarah Jessica Park mean anything to you, you’ll know they don’t just throw on any old rags, when they know the cameras are about. These are just a handful of A-listers who have popularised one of Alexander McQueen’s more affordable dresses. At around £500, I’m sure you’ll agree too. For those amongst you who are all-too-aware how much prices spike up beyond that point, however, rest assured that you’re still able to get a bit of McQ into your life without emptying your wallet.

So what else are girls fighting to get into their wardrobes? Alexander McQueen scarves are what. Glance over to the Scarf Boutique and you’ll be overwhelmed by the hub of variety they have. Last year’s skull scarves were unavoidable, but this year it’s all about their latest line. From the ‘God Save the Queen’ scarves – in memory of the designer – they range through to a plethora of coloured leopard print pashminas which are embellished with the signature skull. As they can be picked up from around £180, there aren’t any excuses to miss out on some Alexandre McQueen over the winter.
