One might say Alexander McQueen’s McQ brand has undergone quite the revival, since the passing of the London fashion designer. In fact, did it ever lose momentum at all? It’s doubtful whether more than a handful of people didn’t hear of McQueen’s untimely passing. It’ll be the second anniversary of that day come February 2012, but it seems like it happened just yesterday, judging by just how popular his clothes still happen to be. Surely you’ve seen the Alexander McQueen scarf on someone on the high street recently. Chances are, you’ll have seen an Alexander McQueen dress too – possibly a tartan puffball one, to be precise. So do you want to be part of the phenomenon? If so, step this way.

As modelled by Rihanna on an infamous X-Factor appearance, the Alexander McQueen tartan wool puffball dress has made itself a high-end must-have for those who can’t bear to be behind with the times. Would you like to know who else agrees? Well if the names Emma Watson, Cheryl Cole or Sarah Jessica Park mean anything to you, you’ll know they don’t just throw on any old rags, when they know the cameras are about. These are just a handful of A-listers who have popularised one of Alexander McQueen’s more affordable dresses. At around £500, I’m sure you’ll agree too. For those amongst you who are all-too-aware how much prices spike up beyond that point, however, rest assured that you’re still able to get a bit of McQ into your life without emptying your wallet.

So what else are girls fighting to get into their wardrobes? Alexander McQueen scarves are what. Glance over to the Scarf Boutique and you’ll be overwhelmed by the hub of variety they have. Last year’s skull scarves were unavoidable, but this year it’s all about their latest line. From the ‘God Save the Queen’ scarves – in memory of the designer – they range through to a plethora of coloured leopard print pashminas which are embellished with the signature skull. As they can be picked up from around £180, there aren’t any excuses to miss out on some Alexandre McQueen over the winter.

With the summer season here and the surf’s up fashion trends are out in force. The theme of this year’s fashion statement is discovering the sensual side of your personality. This year’s fashion jewelry should reflect the sexy and sultry while remaining sophisticated and lovely. You will be swinging right in step to the tune of big, bold and beautiful along with delicate and unique. Some of the hottest items on the ticket include bangles, bangles and more bangles. From the fashion runways, to Hollywood’s glamorous celebrities, the cuff bracelet and the bangle are leading the way in summer fashion jewelry fun. Wearing them stacked one on top of the other or alone for a cuffed effect or grouped together to create an armature. You could say that the bangle is king or is that queen. This year the stops are pulled out as far as colors go. While the textures can be varied in the metal category Silver is still one of the favorites and of course a fashion staple gold; but something not so common this year is the emergence of rose gold and it is showing up everywhere as a trendy choice for this summer’s accessory. Of course you absolutely must have the bright, bold colors that come alive during the summer season. Wear them chunky or wear them thin as long as you wear them. If you lean more toward the neutral colors well have no fear your still on the fashion radar. Another hot summer fashion jewelry trend that seems to be catching on is fabric jewelry. Pieces made by braiding, twisting and wrapping to create interesting textures and designs. Along with fabric jewelry there is the bib necklace and multiple long flowing chains worn as one piece. Lots and lots of faux pearls in black, white and cream. The overall trend is to layer, using a combination of several types of jewelry. You can mix and match. Something bold and colorful with something more delicate creates a unique layering effect. Some of the more nontraditional ideas include feather earrings, something from the past like leather bracelets and beaded bangles are all the rage. Large beautiful brooches in all shapes, in all colors and in all sizes add quite a powerful yet up to the minute affect. The idea is the more the merrier and let your individual personality determine your style and of course have lots of fun. After all summer is here and the living is easy, bold and bright so let your colors shine.

Ladies, if you want to emerge from your winter shell looking hotter than ever, then listen up! 2011 brings a new year accompanied by fashion trends designed to blow your socks off- literally! From chique designer clothes to everyday casual wear, clothing designers are now blasting off to a new generation of style, with fashions to compliment a wide range of body figures.

Remember your jeggings from 2010? You should, because virtually everyone, tween to woman, has a pair sitting in her closet. The ’80′s style skinny jean leggings are being replaced with a more modern look. This year, what’s hot on a cool summer night is the wide leg or flare leg denim jean. You don’t need an hourglass figure to look great in a pair of flare leg jeans, and you can pair it with a cute tee or tank to complete your casual look. Also, choose your jeans to fall a little higher on the waistline than last year’s low-rise selection. A higher waistline makes you appear taller and thinner, and you won’t have to worry about offending anyone by showing them something they do not want to see!

Going out? Grab some sandals and pair them with a full-length skirt. Mini skirts from 2010 are being phased out to introduce these longer eye-catchers. Colorful skirts that fall to mid-calf are comfortable, affordable, and compliment any figure. Accessorize with a great handbag and a pair of cateye sunglasses and you’re sure to turn heads! But be careful not to overdo it; too much flare can be standoffish and gaudy. If you feel the need to improve your ensemble by coating on accessories, you probably need more color in your attire. A layered necklace and dangling earrings will do just fine.

We will also see a decrease of bangles this year. The large bracelets, typically bright metal or plastic, were layered on millions of arms in 2010 but are soon to be a thing of the past. A stylish slim bracelet or bracelet watch can be paired with any outfit, and it is not noisy or bothersome to wear.

The fashion trends for 2011 are geared towards comfort and style for every figure, and can be worn with confidence and class. Whether running to the bank or having a night out on the town with the girls, have fun with it and go in syle!

Every year, with the change of the seasons, the latest, hippest, and most cutting-edge in fashion styles arrives on the runways of Paris and Milan. Modern designers are like 5 star Michelin chefs, and clothing, accessories, and fashion is a continuous fusion of different cultures and past decades; what is new and in style will always have its reference point somewhere in the past, and designers, like all artists, are always looking to reinvent the past. Men’s fashion for the spring and summer of 2011 is no different. It takes some classic looks and styles and adds a few modern embellishments.

The preppy, yacht rock look will never go out of style. Of course, this does not mean English boarding school preppy. Men just want comfort, class, and elegance. This year, buttoned down shirts are worn with rolled-up sleeves; the shirts are then matched with shorts that have a soft, subtle print, and the look is completed with deck shoes or loafers. A style that has cropped up in shows by Perry Ellis and Michael Bastian is to further enhance the preppy, yacht rock look by complimenting the color blue with a swatch of orange. This color scheme adds to an overall nautical appearance.

Simple and traditional, black is the hot, popular color. On the runways this spring and summer several designers put on shows featuring men clad in head to toe black. Louis Vitton, Simon Spurr, and Burberry have all reinvented the color for 2011. A secondary trend in color has been to bring back the bright, vibrant hues of the early 1990s; party wear and cycling caps are trendy.

Native inspired clothing is also fashionable this season. Traditional plaids have been replaced by native style prints, especially North, Central, and South American designs. Being that prints are difficult to pair with shorts or pants, these pieces of clothing should be used sparingly. However, they will add an element of surprise to any man’s wardrobe.

Finally, the classic urban look remains as strong as ever. In the spring and summer collections, double breasted blazers and crew neck shirts were popular. Clean, sharp lines and an immaculate appearance are important elements for a man’s wordrobe.

Whether you are lounging at the beachside bungalow or out at a nightclub in the city, men’s fashion for the spring and summer of 2011 offers many styles for the modern man to choose from.
